Ivan Curdinjakovic

Backend Developer

Ivan is in love with computers since Apple IIe and C64 and immersed into programming since BASIC and LOGO. He is a Magento backend developer, which means lots of PHP, SQL, Apache, HTML, Linux, Javascript, Git, PhpStorm…

He is also a father of two beautiful little girls and a husband to one beautiful girl. When he is not hanging around with them, friends or relatives, he sits behind his home computer again - this time playing a game of Dota 2. And when he needs to blow off some steam, he goes for a game of basketball. Though, he admits, he is playing with veterans more and more. Youngsters are getting too fast, too strong, and too tall for him. :)

He earned his degree in journalism from the Faculty of political sciences in Zagreb. For a long time, besides programming career, he pushed a parallel career in journalism. So he was a field journalist, host (on radio and TV), and even an editor. In a weird twist of events, he was also an elementary school English language teacher for two years. Eventually, he committed wholly to IT career, and before coming to Inchoo, he spent almost 4 years developing SEO tools for an Australian firm.

He loves coffee, good food, nice people, relaxing, good music (among other things).

We were just scratching our own itch – wanting to use all the performance benefits PHP 7 brought to run Magento faster. But, as the cover image of that post inadvertently prophesied, we created a monster that escaped, and is continuing to terrorize the villagers to present day. Continue reading
