Custom data components in Pimcore

Today I will show you how to create custom data component in Pimcore 4.4.. If you are using Pimcore, sooner or later you will end up with requirement for new form element (complex type). Data components in Pimcore are object types used for complex data modeling on object. Data component consists from data, tag Extjs scripts and one Model which is responsible for saving/loading configuration. Currently Pimcore has 19 complex data components (you can read more on https://www.pimcore.org/docs/latest/Objects/Object_Classes/Data_Types/index.html), and they will cover most requirements you will ever need. Extending Pimcore with plugins

After half a year we are back on Pimcore development. Since last time, Pimcore 4 has been released and it’s already in 4.3 version. I have been writing about portlets and now it is time to go much deeper in extending Pimcore. Creating EAV based model(s) in Magento

Magento EAV (Entity Attribute Value) data model is used to get flexibility for your data, but it brings more complexity than relation table model. If you need data model that will have flexible attributes which can be dynamically added, for example from Magento admin panel, then EAV is the best solution for you. If using EAV, you don’t need to change table structure for every new attribute like you do on flat tables (creating new colums).
