Have you noticed the fresh look on our blog posts? Recently our Inchoo design team has been putting a lot of effort into our featured images, but also working on a great portfolio through various projects along with evolving Inchoo’s identity. Our usability audit is now just one of their services because with the newest addition to the team, Katarina Dijakovic, they’re more versatile than ever.
That’s why we decided to talk to Katarina and learn a bit about what inspires her, what keeps her going and how she found herself in eCommerce.
Here you have an interview with her – about technicalities, design hacks and about what she thinks of design in eCommerce now when there’s a certain mileage in her Inchoo shoes.
Tomislav Bilić, founder of Inchoo, talked with Kalen Jordan, founder of MageMail, in one of the MageTalk series Kalen co-hosts with Phillip Jackson. Here’s what they discussed.
When you’re communicating with a lot of people from all over the world, it’s inevitable there’s going to be a lot of glitches anyway. But, when you’re working in eCommerce, especially Magento sales, things just get a tad more complicated and, at times, quite funny.
Here are some of my favorite not-so-ordinary inquiries and quotes from “the trenches”. All of these are real-life examples.
We’ve been writing our story for 8 years now. From team forming, product defining and processes being established, we’ve continuously been putting effort into growing and improving.
Positive attitude towards employees and clients brought us many successful stories to share, latest one being named a National Champion for Croatia in “The ELITE Award for Growth Strategy of the Year”.
Can you help us win?
Take a walk down the memory lane with us and have a look at how 2015 flew by at Inchoo. As our CEO, Tomislav Bilic, put it in his recent article, last year was a big one for Inchoo. There were many incredibly important moments for the company and its growth, and we are proud to present them, a bit differently, here.
Hi. I hope you had a wonderful New Year celebration. Putting festivities aside, beginning of January is the time we all use to analyse the past and plan the future. Looking back on eight years Inchoo is in business, I can happily say that 2015 was an amazing year for us. This might be an understatement. It was the best year ever. Here are the reasons why.
Working at Inchoo means several things. One of them is that you’re a part of the community.
Internally, you are a part of the team. Locally, you contribute to developing various IT initiatives. But, internationally, you are a part of Magento enthusiasts and passion driven individuals.
Many of them gather at Meet Magento events and October was all about that.
So, where did we go and what did we do this October around?
They say December is the month of surprises and even though we (and our clients) love the Christmas shopping spree (which may not be a surprise at all), excitement can be found even in September – if we’re talking Meet Magentos and we are.
First of the many upcoming community organized Meet Magentos is Meet Magento Belarus where our Mladen Ristić is one of the speakers.
Inchoo has been named a National Champion for Croatia in “The ELITE Award for Growth Strategy of the Year” category, which is a part of the prestigious European Business Awards competition supported by various business leaders, academics, media and political representatives from across Europe.
Life at Inchoo is not all about hard work. It is also about having fun doing what you love, acquiring new skills and upgrading existing ones to get the big picture and getting the chance to learn from the experience of others. Learning from experiences of others is an important part of individual personal growth and success which benefit greatly to everyone; from said individuals, their team, Inchoo, and ultimately our clients who get to reap the fruits of one’s experiences and views. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Following that philosophy, Inchooers can often be seen attending and speaking at various conferences in various parts of the world. Gathering knowledge through experiences of others, traveling and getting to see the world, meeting people and eventually understanding what makes someone tick – all of that results in always fresh ideas that help us solve the problems we encounter every day.
Tweak it. Shape it. Place it. Grab it. (It being the article or it being the knowledge.)
Push the limits. Push the limits again.
And start again.
Now, indeed, is your chance.
What way to sum up 3 years of volunteering experience and projects with a special focus on last four weeks of my life – here’s how a mind grows when nurtured right. A story about me and Inchoo.
My month of April was reserved for a completely new experience in 2015 – sales and marketing internship at Inchoo. I spent four weeks in Gdansk, sales & partially marketing team named after the city in Poland (all of the Inchoo teams are named after cities across the world).
This team is the starting point for all forms of business – no matter if it’s smaller SEO jobs or making a web shop from scratch, sales & marketing is where the inquiries come to and where communication transforms into project that later on finds its way to Inchoo’s designers and developers.
Previous interns have already praised their experience at Inchoo so I’ll try to keep it to a minimum. One of them actually started working full time just as I was starting my internship. An excellent example how your internship can become something more at Inchoo.
The ninth Meet Magento Germany is coming up and it will take place in the centre of Leipzig in the Westin Hotel. On 11th and 12th of May the conference will gather Magento and eCommerce enthusiasts to share their experiences and knowledge.
The conference, in the words of attendees, described as one of those “must attend” eCommerce conferences in region and as an event that “gathered some of the brightest minds of the industry”.
After we saw the rollout of four different certification programs by Magento aimed at developers, project managers and business analysts (all those behind-the-scenes folks), we couldn’t help but feel there was something missing. There was nothing in store for the ones in the very heart of every eCommerce transaction – the customers.
So, we have joined forces with several of our favorite Magento community members gathered around #RealMagento hashtag and are proud to present the first unofficial certification program in the Magento ecosystem – Magento Certified Customer and Magento Certified Customer Plus!
