Customising product info tabs in Magento 2

Whether horizontal (which are more common) or vertical, tabs are a great way to avoid information overload by organizing large content into easily digestible chunks of data. When done right they provide all the information (related to one specific subject) without overwhelming users, allowing them to quickly navigate through the content by showing data from just one tab at a time. From the UX standpoint tabs’ main purpose is to simply facilitate access to information and it’s also useful to know that they don’t have any negative effect on your SEO and site ranking in any way.

The practical value of Design Thinking

Recently, we got inspired by the Magento team’s Design Thinking presentation held at the Magento Imagine 2016 conference. Unfortunately, we weren’t there but it feels like we might as well have been. Seeing how the Magento team worked on improving the Magento 2.0. interface in the presentation slides struck a chord with us. It affirmed a lot of the methods we were already using and got us thinking even more.

Magento 2 Luma Theme Under The Scope

Magento 2 brings new default theme under the name “Luma”. Luma is a very clean, easy on the eyes and elegant theme that has adopted better usability practices than it’s predecessor, Magento 1 default “Madison Island” theme.

In this blog post I’ve prepared an overview of the main differences between these two themes and the crucial UX issues that were found in Beta version of Luma theme. As Magento 2 is still in the development phase, this article will be updated when some major changes occur.
