Hello everybody. We are very happy to announce that Snippi hit the net. This is a personal project of Branko Ajzele, one of our developers, that went live few days ago. He was developing it for some time now and I hope it will be usable for all of you Magento developers who are trying to find a solution for your specific needs. Snippi is a Magento related website for sharing Magento code snippets. You can see it live on http://snippi.net
Finding a solution for specific need can be a nightmare in Magento since you are faced with the process of heavy digging through Magento forum and Magento related blogs. Very soon you will notice that many people had the same issue as you do, but no concrete answer. You’ll probably find chunks of code that can help, but you’ll have to put it all together. Snippi’s goal is to help you in this process.
We realize there are already dozens of sites related to snippets and code sharing, but none for Magento development. Site is built on Drupal CMS. There are still lot of “styling” left to do at the present time, but the site is usable. Branko hopes that you will not find the site too ugly since he designed it
We all love the simplicity of it that makes the code snippets highly usable.
What makes these code snippets special is that little drop down field next to each snippet entry where you mark down the version of Magento for which snippet has been tested for. The search functionality is planned soon.
Hopefully this project will become handy in those situations where you find yourself with broken Magento code for some reason. The next step for you is to register and share a feedback. Help the community by adding your own examples of code.
Here is one Snippi example:

To post code in comments, place your code inside
and
tags.

This is great! I hope the community will take it in their hands now and fill the site with tons of useful snippets [read: no more hours of searching...]
