Hi Toni,

I’d go with asking for honest review and testimonials, as well as arranging interviews with other notable bloggers within my niche.

Although personally, if you think about it, there’s no such thing as getting these done for free. That is because you need to spend time, and energy to finish these tasks which in turn equates to money as well.

What are your thoughts on this?

This list seems to be quite good. I will like to add some more:
1. Add your web address in signature of your email. Ask all your employees to do the same.
2. Share your latest blog entry by putting the subject link in your chat status (gtalk, yahoo etc), your facebook/orkut status message. Ask your employees and even friends to do the same.
3. Get registered in local business directories (Google and others i know are India centric)
4. Get a simple way to start a safe and simple news letter.
5. Join google/yahoo groups and participate in discussions. If you don’t find one create one.

Great points.
To add few:
- Use Keywords properly at the title tag, mostly at the left
- Use 5 to 8 Keywords
- Use Keywords that make sense to your prospects or what they re likely to use when the search for your product or alike
- If you use pictures use AltText as SE can’t read them
- Try not to use Ajax/ Java Script/ Flash unless you do extra things like adding textlinks as SE cant read them
- Always refresh contents on your pages
- Internally link your website pages
- Have separate Title tags for each page on your webiste to increase your chances of being found by the SE
- Use slideshare they rank high on SE
- Also Scribd ranks high

You mention using Facebook, but I would like to add this that you can and should also use smaller / local social networking sites. Especially when you operate in local market like we do (with non-English language site).
