IsoStore launched in 2008 with a simple mission: to stop noise in its tracks. Originally called Sound Isolation Store, they rebranded in 2014 to IsoStore, making it easier to remember and harder to confuse with the competition. With years of construction know-how and a selection of the best soundproofing products, they’re all about providing smart solutions. From their Boise base, they’re ready to help you solve your noise problems, no matter how loud they are.
Mission Brief
We connected with the client at just the right time, as he’d recently purchased a Hyvä license and was on the lookout for a trusted implementer. As a Hyvä Silver Partner, we were ready to dive in!
In our first meetings, we focused on understanding his current store: what worked, what didn’t, and what was just plain annoying. It quickly became clear that this wasn’t just a quick fix. It needed to be a full-scale project.
How We Tackled It
We kicked things off by stripping away the noise, literally and figuratively. Our approach was to keep things fast and reliable, building on the strengths of Hyvä while avoiding the bloat of problematic third-party extensions. We focused on custom development where it made sense, ensuring each feature actually solved a problem instead of creating new ones. Let’s explore some of the project’s highlights:

Smarter Customization for IsoDoors
IsoStore’s sound control doors (IsoDoors) are their most customizable products, with a wide range of options for size, finish, panel design, etc. With so many choices, the process could sometimes feel overwhelming for customers. We wanted to make it clearer to navigate.
To help customers better understand their choices, we improved the product page by adding preview images next to key options. This way, shoppers can see exactly what they’re selecting, giving them more confidence in customizing their perfect door.
Discount Thresholds
IsoStore offers three discount tiers, 5%, 10%, and 15%, based on the total cart value. These are a great incentive, but we saw an opportunity to make them even more effective.
So we added a small tweak: as shoppers add items to their cart, the site dynamically shows how much more they need to spend to unlock the next discount. It’s a simple nudge that encourages larger orders without feeling pushy. Instead of guessing or doing the math themselves, customers can just focus on what they need and maybe find a reason to add that extra item.


Estimation Calculator
There’s nothing more frustrating than not knowing how much material you need, right? That’s where IsoStore’s Estimation Calculator comes in. It helps customers easily figure out how many clips and how much furring channel they’ll need based on their wall or ceiling dimensions.
Although the calculator was previously available on the site, it didn’t function properly in all areas. We built a new one from the ground up to ensure full compatibility with the Hyvä theme and to resolve those issues. In the process, we also introduced a fresh visual design to make the experience more intuitive and user-friendly.
Improved SEO
We also tackled one of the client’s top priorities: enhanced SEO. To lay the foundation, we integrated our Inchoo SEO Manager extension, giving IsoStore stronger technical SEO out of the box. We also solved duplicate content issues and enriched category pages with unique descriptions to improve relevance and search visibility.
An important update was made to the “Shop by Function” section, originally a CMS page in Magento, which limited its SEO potential. We reworked it into a proper category page with full schema markup, aligning structure with user (and search engine) expectations. Now it behaves and performs like a true product listing hub.
Hyvä-Powered IsoStore
IsoStore now runs on the Hyvä theme combined with Hyvä Checkout, making it easier to customize and maintain by avoiding the bloat of traditional Magento themes. We also updated important third-party extensions to work with the new theme, allowing our client to maintain all critical functionality without disruption.
Since the store’s launch in March 2025, we’ve seen a significant improvement in Core Web Vitals. According to Google’s CrUX report, 100% of mobile visits now pass the Core Web Vitals assessment, with excellent results for Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay, and Cumulative Layout Shift. These improvements mean the site not only loads faster but also offers a more fluid and stable experience, which is important for both users and long-term SEO success.
