The Six Pillars of Dynamic Slider Engagement

Our dynamic slider is centered on interactivity and measurable results. To deliver on this promise, the development was guided by six foundational principles (acceptance criteria). Let’s explore what they are:

We’ve developed two variations of the slider to fit different storefront needs:

  1. Full-Width Slider: Extends across the entire width of the page, typically used for prominent displays like the homepage or category pages to maximize visual impact.
  2. Multi-Panel Slider: Displays multiple product panels or cards simultaneously within the slider container, offering a denser view and faster scanning of diverse products.

Real-World Impact: Štark and Hajduk Split

The true test of any feature is its performance in a live environment. These slider variations have been successfully implemented and tested on two diverse Magento stores: the popular retail site for Štark and the high-traffic fan shop for Hajduk Split.

Štark Webshop: Full-Width Immersion

For the Štark webshop, we implemented a full-width version of our dynamic slider. The expansive canvas allows for captivating visuals and impactful messaging, immediately drawing visitors into the brand’s world.

The smooth transitions make it easy for visitors to explore Štark’s latest promotions and product highlights. It’s now a storytelling space that connects Štark’s heritage with its modern, dynamic identity.

Hajduk Split Webshop: Multi-Panel Dynamic

The Hajduk Split webshop presented a different challenge.

The goal was to make it clearer to visitors that there’s additional content (other slides) on both sides. We achieved this with a multi-panel layout.

This “Keindle Style” approach is crucial for an entity like Hajduk, as it allows fans to quickly scan and access other key categories (e.g., match kits, fashion, or souvenirs) without having to wait for the main slide to cycle. This provides a clear, segmented, yet fully engaging navigational experience.

Data Speaks

For the Hajduk Split webshop, we used Google Analytics 4 (GA4) event tracking to draw a precise line between the performance of the old slider and the new multi-panel dynamic slider.

Let’s examine the collected data, comparing the old event names (banner_viewed, banner_cta_clicked) with the new, dedicated slider events (prefixed with hp_hero_slide), to see how interactive design principles translate into measurable results:

The data divides into two 10-day periods: before launch (Sep 14–23) and after launch (Sep 24–Oct 3) of the new slider. Following the update, impressions increased noticeably, confirming that the new slider is reaching a broader audience. Click activity also showed a modest uplift, demonstrating a stable and positive level of engagement that stands to grow further as users continue to interact with the refreshed experience.

This is still an early implementation phase, but the initial shift in user behavior validates our approach, and we are looking forward to generating our first comprehensive hero slider usage reports to continually optimize performance.
