Magento archive database dumps (structure only, data only, full)

Sometimes during the various Magento upgrade projects you might find it handy to have a SQL file ready to “restore” the old Magento version. Maybe a client has the Magento Community Edition 1.4.2.0 and is requesting an update to newest version. One of the actions you might want to take is to grab its database structure dump and compare it to original v.1.4.2.0 just to see if there were some custom tables added by developers, then you can compare it with original Magento installation.

Below you will find fresh install database dumps for all the current “major” community edition releases. I did not cover releases in between such as ver 1.4.0.1, as I always find it a good to first do an upgrade to “latest incremental release” like 1.4.2.0 in this case before jumping to lets say ver 1.7.0.2.

Below you will find database dumps with structure only, data only and full dump versions.

Magento Community Edition, ver 1.7.0.2 – released Jul 5, 2012.
STRUCTURE ONLY | DATA ONLY | FULL

Magento Community Edition, ver 1.6.2.0 – released Jan 11, 2012.
STRUCTURE ONLY | DATA ONLY | FULL

Magento Community Edition, ver 1.5.1.0 – released April 26, 2011.
STRUCTURE ONLY | DATA ONLY | FULL

Magento Community Edition, ver 1.4.2.0 – released December 8, 2010.
STRUCTURE ONLY | DATA ONLY | FULL

Magento Community Edition, ver 1.3.3.0 – released April 23, 2010.
STRUCTURE ONLY | DATA ONLY | FULL

Hope someone finds it useful.

  1. How Do you finally compare the Databases? (Schema/Data). Is there a Diff Method, or do you do this by hand?
